Let’s talk about bugs for a minute, shall we?

I may have jumped the gun a little and planted a few things outside pretty early. Okay, really early, like late January-ish. But, come on people, this is San Diego, and we were having a warm week, and I got a little excited. So a few things didn’t make it…but this is a learning process right? When I was in my early twenties I was a little bit bothered by the fact that I’d rather stay home and make jam than go out and be social like the rest of my friends. And then I grew up, and learned to totally embrace my domesticity. So far 2011 has been a year of projects, big and small, with some huge ones on the horizon. The boyfriend, S, and I moved into a great house down in a super lush canyon last November. It was the only place we looked at. We were sold when we walked down the stairs onto the front porch (complete with a swing!) and all we could see from every angle was green. It felt like being in a treehouse. The backyard is huge. One of the first things that S said was, “I want to build a brick oven.” And so it was, the first of many DIY zygotes to form between the two of us.
